Not all app developers pay as much attention to quality as we do. If you’re having trouble with your existing app, we’re happy to take a look to see what’s going wrong.
Like a mechanic, sometimes we have to break some bad news. It may be that the code is so poor that it needs a rewrite! If so, we can help get you on the right track.
Other times your app just needs a quick fix. We can help there, too. Or if you’re looking to add a couple of features, we can add them in a way that doesn’t impact the stability or reliability of your existing app. Read more to find out how we’ve helped others in your situation.
Whether you originally developed your app through DrewCrawfordApps or some other developer, you need three things to make a change to your app:
- The permission of the registered developer for the app. If you’ve followed our advice and registered yourself, you’ve already got this one covered!
- The source code for the application. It’s like a secret sauce for iPhone apps.
- The legal right to make changes to the application (e.g., a signed copyright release).
We try hard to give you all three when you build an app with us, but other vendors aren’t so generous. Many hold one or more of these things hostage for exorbitant fees!
If you own an iPhone, you understand the economics of this. An iPhone costs way more than the $199 sticker price. You’re agreeing to pay thousands of dollars over two years! You’re locked in to AT&T to provide your phone service.
Many app developers work in the same way. They offer a low up-front “sticker price”, but you’re locked in to their service charges, and they’re the only ones who can fix bugs or add features, often at hugely inflated prices.
We really don’t like this. We’d rather you pick us not because you’re locked in with a lengthy service contract or on some technicality, but because we provide excellent service. Our standard terms are to give you all three maintenance items, and also to transfer the application’s copyright to you at the completion of the project. We sleep better at night knowing our customers really like us, and aren’t just obligated to work with us.
